Wrapping a shark fin antenna is not a difficult task. To get started, you'll need: Heat shrink wrap, Tape measure, A thin piece of wire, Electrical tape.
- Step 1: Measure the wire
Using your tape measure, measure the length and girth of the antenna. Make sure that all the measurements are accurate so that you don’t cut too much or too little of the wrap.
- Step 2: Cut the wire
Using a pair of scissors or wire cutters, cut enough pieces to cover the circumference and length of the antenna. The wire should fit snugly around the antenna, so make sure you cut it accordingly.
- Step 3: Apply the wrap
Starting at the bottom of the antenna, begin to vinyl wrap the wire around it. Keep in mind that the overlapping section should not be too long, as it can affect the performance of the antenna.
- Step 4: Secure the wrap
Once you have finished wrapping, use the heat shrink wrap to secure the wire tightly around the antenna. Use the electrical tape to cover any visible parts of the antenna.
